Most Stylish High Chairs of 2020

Tripp Trapp

So you’re about to have a baby? Well, that means your house is about to be OVERTAKEN by baby gear. Jumpers, toy bins, book shelves, walkers and so. much. more. But, you don’t have to sacrifice your personal style on EVERYTHING, right? On today’s post I’m outlining my favorite stylish high-chairs

01. OXO Sprout Chair

This little gem is the one we have. It comes in 4 wood finishes (birch, grey, walnut, and white) and 5 cushion covers (navy, gray, taupe, pink, and apple green) . One of the best parts is that you can buy a replacement cushion, great for if you have a lot of kids or you want to matching new décor. The cushion is fully removable and super easy to wipe down with just a wipe or damp cloth. This chair also has three seat height and depth adjustability (bonus - this can be done with NO tools!) and also transitions into a a big kid chair for up to five years old. We’ve had three kids on this chair and it’s still in fantastic shape!

02. Asunflower Wooden High Chair

I just love the West Elm Mid-Century Feel to this chair. The Asunflower Wooden High Chair comes equipped with an adjustable footrest with seven heights AND adjustable legs, so this high chair can easily grow with your little one until they are ten years old! I love the adjustable legs for two reasons. First, you can scooch the high chair under different height tables, breakfast bars, or kitchen island. Second, as your baby grows, you can remove the tray, lower the legs, and they can join for family meals right at the dining table - working more as a booster and not a high chair. This chair is not only sleek looking, but I love that there is no cushion, which makes cleaning a breeze! Plus, at under $115 on Amazon, you really can’t go wrong.

03. Fresco Bloom High Chair

The Fresco Bloom High Chair is our most expensive option in this round-up, and you can see why. This chair is completely customizable with 5 frame finishes and 10 seat pad colors to find your perfect combination. The most unique, and impressive feature is the reclining chair with three recline positions: cradle mode for resting, semi-recline for bottle-feeding, and fully upright. Plus, you can switch between the positions with a light touch handle, voila, you’re little one has gone from bottle-feeding to eating snacks with the push of a button. The pneumatic up and down height adjustment also makes this the cream of the crop for high chairs - easily adjust the height and pull your baby up to a raised island, or lower for face to face time with Mommy! The height adjustability makes this chair wok for your little one up to eight years old, which can help justify the price tag. Fully loaded this chair can cost you up to $817, with the base model coming in at $599, but.

04. Stokke Tripp Trapp Highchair and Baby Seat

The Stokke Tripp Trapp is my favorite seat for adjustability. This chair really can handle babies and kids of all ages, even adults, as it is rated up to 300 lbs! The highly adjustable seat, which can be height and depth adjusted, and footrest can be easily configured to fit a 6 month baby up to a grown adult. The included high back seat insert can be easily removed, so, as your child grows, they can sit with you and eat comfortably at the dining table. Plus, the optional newborn insert makes this chair useable for resting from birth on! This chair revolutionized the baby gear industry when it was first introduced in 1972, so you know the classic, yet modern design will last through any of your décor and style changes. With 14 color options available (visit the Stokke website for more!), and the complete set for under $300, this chair sells out fast, so swipe it up when you can!

05. IKEA Antilop Highchair

Our most budget friendly on the Stylish Highchair list is the IKEA Antilop High Chair. This down and dirty design doesn’t offer a whole lot of features, but at under $20, it’s still a great choice since you don’t have to sacrifice budget for style! My favorite part of this highchair (other than the price and sleek design), is that it’s one of the only high chairs that are stackable, great if you have multiples or just have more than one child that still sits in a high chair. This seat also easily comes apart for storage or transport; this is an amazing feature if you don’t have a lot of storage in you home, or if you are traveling to family or friends house. This is also a fantastic option for a grandparents house if they don’t want to have the highchair out when the grandkids aren’t over. Simply take it apart, store it in a linen closet, and it can be easily reassembled when it’s time for the special weekend at grandma’s!

06. Phil & Ted’s Lobster Chair

This is another chair that we have for our girls, and let me tell you, it. is. a game. changer. First, let’s just say if you have a small living space, this is the PERFECT option for you. It’s so tiny when collapsed, like SO tiny. Plus, you can just hook it onto your table or breakfast bar and it literally takes up no room at all. If you’re like our family, and often eat at the counter, this is also great option so your little one can join you right at the table. If you like to go out to dinner and sit at a high-top table, this is almost a must. It uses a VERY sturdy vice grip to hook onto the side of the table, so we’re never worried about the little one falling, and we’ve used this thing more times than I could even count, on all sorts of different table heights and designs. It’s also great for small restaurants, where putting a traditional high chair in the aisle would be annoying for the servers. Like the IKEA Antilop Highchair, this is perfect for the grandparents to keep at their house. It literally collapses FLAT so it can be stored anywhere. We keep ours in the car, so we have it with us wherever we go. My brother and his wife went with a cheaper version of a clip high chair, and ended up splurging for this one after about a month of use. The competitor version is much more difficult to attach, and collapsing it back down was a pain. Forget putting it back into that tiny bag, but with this one, it’s a breeze. I cannot recommend this product enough (as shown by all the caps I used in this review!!)!

07. Lalo’s “The Chair” Highchair

The Lalo “The Chair” is not only beautifully designed, but it has a super cool feature not found in most other chairs. Lalo offer’s a package with “play legs”, four legs that can be swapped out, to make it into a play chair! As they say “it shrinks as your little one grows.” How awesome is that! You can also purchase the Full Kit, which comes with the play legs and machine washable cushion (for added comfort and to prop your baby up when they are just teeny tiny). Combine these features with a sleek, modern design and four color options (I’m crushing on the blueberry), all for only $215 (regularly $255), and you’ve got a steal of a high chair! (Note, if you just love the look of this highchair, but don’t need the added features), you can score The Chair for only $175.

08. 4Moms High Chair

I know a lot about this high chair, since it’s the one that my mom has for when her 5 (soon to be six!) grandkids come over! Not only is this thing stylish, but it has some great features. 4Moms says they are a robotics company that makes baby gear, so in addition to it being stylish, it of course has some unique features. First, it has a second tray that snaps onto the main tray, that can be easily taken off and thrown in the dishwasher, because, you know…babies. It also has a VERY easy on and off tray design. It uses magnets to guide you putting it on, so you don’t have to fumble around to line it up perfect before it clicks on! They tried to make the top fully magnetic, but due to US law on baby gear, the tray must fully latch and not just be held on by magnets. But wait! There’s more! 4Moms came up with another clever way to use magnets. The main tray is magnetized, and combined with the 4Moms Plates and Bowls, it makes it a lot more difficult for the babies to throw their food (which currently happens at my house for every. single. meal! help!) Note that once the baby gets a bit older, they will most likely be strong enough to pull the bowl from the magnetic tray, but its great for when they are little. Some other notable features, are a seat that’s adjustable to 3 positions, and tray that is adjustable to 2 positions, and a super easy to clean insert. This insert, unlike some of the competitors, goes all the way to the edge of the chair, which makes it way harder for food and spills to get stuck in any nooks and crannies! This is currently out of stock, but sign up to be notified when it’s back in December!

09. Nuna ZAAZ Highchair

This high chair is the most heavy duty option on the list, and you can tell from the design. This chair has a hidden adjustable arm, so you can adjust to any height, not just certain levels. Plus, no need to disassemble or use tools to adjust like some other chairs! This chair also boasts an easy to clean design, with a removable foam cushion and no-crevice design perfect for those messy little babies. The seat I have doesn’t have this feature and would definitely be a feature I would put in my “must have” column if buying a new chair. Plus, all the removable plastic components are fully dishwasher safe! This chair is available in Pewter, Carbon, Almond, and the Nordstrom Exclusive Jade for $299.

10. Keekaroo Right Highchair

The Keekaroo Right Highchair follows a very similar design aesthetic to the Stokke Tripp Trapp Highchair but with a few added features in the base model. First, the included infant insert makes this chair useable at a younger age and adds stability for older babies that are still a bit wobbly. Plus, it’s made of a proprietary material that’s peel and tear resistant so you can use it year after year. Next, unlike the base model Tripp Trapp it also has a tray! But not just any tray, the wooden tray also comes with a plastic BPA free tray cover for easy cleaning! The adjustable seat and footplate and the weight limit of 250 lbs means this chair can easily grow with you to adulthood. So it’s worth the investment at under $250. The Keekaroo is offered with 8 different cushion colors and three frame colors (Natural, Espresso and Mahogany), so you can find a combination to match any style!

11. Stokke Clikk Highchair

From the company that brought you the famous Tripp Trapp, the Clikk high chair is the winner of the 2020 Red Dot Award (a prestigious design award!), and it’s easy to see why - it is absolutely gorgeous! Plus, it comes with everything you need for your newest bundle of joy. A three or five point harness will keep them safe and secure as they grow. Stokke touts the chair’s “one minute assembly” as no tools are required for assembly or adjusting as your child grows. This modern high chair is suitable for children up to three years with adjustable seat and foot tray for proper posture and comfort as your child grows. The cushion free design means that this chair is SUPER easy to clean. Simply wipe down with a cloth, no need to remove parts or struggle to get the harness in and out of tiny cushion holes!
